Overcoming Struggles with Daily Rituals: Sarah-Kate Kiriliuk on Sobriety.
How to Grow Through Struggle with Sarah Kate Kiriliuk of Some Good Clean Fun
On this week’s Brave New Girls podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sarah Kate Kiriliuk—a leading non-alcoholic drinks expert and the founder of Some Good Clean Fun, a media platform celebrating wellness and sober living.
Sarah shared openly about her daily struggles: burnout, perimenopause, sugar cravings, and the constant juggling act of being a working mother and entrepreneur. Her wellbeing is a work-in-progress, which she navigates with self-awareness and a fierce commitment to living life with more clarity and less overwhelm.
Like many women, Sarah found herself pushed to the brink. A self-described workaholic, she hit a wall in late 2023- burned out, depleted, and unable to continue at the same pace. It was during this time that she discovered Human Design, a system that helped her understand her natural energy flow. As a “Projector,” she realised she wasn’t built to hustle constantly. Instead, she began to redefine what productivity and purpose looked like on her own terms.
She also credits a few key tools with helping her rebalance: magnesium bisglycinate to curb sugar cravings and support sleep, vitamin D to help lift mood, and a weekly early-morning walk with friends. These gentle but intentional habits became non-negotiables in her routine.
Sarah’s story is a reminder that growth doesn’t come from pushing harder. It comes from pausing, listening, and choosing again. From letting go of outdated beliefs- like productivity equals worth, or alcohol equals joy- and growing new ones that better serve who we are now.
Wellbeing is not about doing everything perfectly- it’s about responding to your needs honestly. And remembering that growth often starts in discomfort. Whether you’re dealing with hormonal shifts, career burnout, or shifting habits around alcohol, there is a way forward. And it begins with small, nourishing steps.
